Level 2 Certificate in Plumbing (Apprenticeship option)

Course Duration The Apprenticeship will last for approximately 24 months, with 1 day a week in college and 4 days with your employer.
Career Prospects

Workers in this sector assemble, install, maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, heating and ventilating systems and pipes and pipeline systems in commercial, residential and industrial establishments. The entry level wage is £17k, rising to £37k plus if you own your own business.

  • Work safely in a plumbing environment.
  • Learn about PPE, HASAWA 1974, COSHH, Manual Handling and hazards at work.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, visitors and others and developing yourself.
  • Interpret construction drawings, manuals, charts and books.
  • Identify, understand materials used in industry, and understand why we use them.
  • Build on work based experience to gain recognised industry related qualifications.
  • Gain a working understanding of central heating, hot & cold water supply and sanitation systems with the underpinning scientific knowledge.

Course Fees Apprenticeships are Government funded. However you will be expected to provide basic stationery items, i.e. folder/plastic wallets for storing your NVQ evidence.
