There is also a supplemental qualification in Event Planning which covers:
1. Planning and event.
2. Event review and evaluation.
3. Market research and marketing methods in event planning.
4. Human resource planning at events.
5. Communication and customer service at events.
Assessment information?
This qualification is internally assessed and externally moderated.
Each candidate is required to complete a range of assignments/ role plays and activities that meet the assessment criteria and learning outcomes for each unit.
How long does it take?
The course will commence in September and complete the following July. This gives the student the time to complete all compulsory units and obtain additional qualifications e.g Cabin Crew/Resort Reps/Photography and a variety of Functional skills. Your course may involve educational visits to UK and European destinations.
Who is it suitable for?
People wanting to develop their skills and knowledge, necessary to work in the travel and tourism industry.
What are the entry requirements?
Completion of the induction programme and assignment.
Pleasant personality
Knowledge of locations
5 GCSE’s grade D-G and a good standard of Numeracy.
English GSCE at grade D or above.
A BTEC Certificate in a related subject and L2 Literacy
Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Keyboarding skills
Or related work experience
What can I do next?
On completion of this course, you may be able to progress to:
- Employment in areas including but are not limited to: Front Office, Travel Agents, Leisure Organisations, Airlines, Tourist Information Centres, Holiday Sites and the Customer Service Sector.
- BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Travel & Tourism or a level 3 qualification.
- You may wish to progress onto another full-time course or decide to seek employment in the Travel and Tourism industry.
