The College follows the financial accounting stream for the Technicians stage. This comprises the following

Business Tax
All students will be exempt from this final unit, if they have progressed from Level 3 or the AAT Intermediate.
Only those starting directly at this level will be required to complete the unit.
What are the entry requirements?
AAT Intermediate, NVQ Level 3 in Accounting or an exemption at Level 3.
What can I do next?
Successful Technician students can apply to become full members of the AAT which enables them to use the letters MAAT after their name.
You could choose to progress to train for further professional accountancy qualifications with ICAEW,CIMA,ICASor ACCA.
There are employment opportunities for AAT accounting technicians throughout the UK and many members practise as self-employed accountants
How will I be assessed?
As the ATT technician course is an NVQ it is assessed by a portfolio of evidence of competence, which will include a 4000 word work based project. There is also an additional requirement in four of the units to pass examinations which are externally set and marked.
How long does it take?
Two years full-time, alternatively a part-time option is available which takes three years. Either option
enables learners to work part-time or remain in employment at the same time as acquiring a Higher Education qualification.

Business HND
What’s on the Course?
Compulsory Units:
HND Business Full Time – This is a 2 year course available as a daytime only option.
Year 1
6 mandatory units:
• Business Environment
• Managing Financial Resources and Decisions
• Organisations and Behaviour
• Marketing Principles
• Managing Business Activity
• Managing Communication, Knowledge and Information
Year 2
6 further mandatory units:
• Contract and Negligence for Business

You will also be expected to choose 2 option modules in both the first and second year. The options are chosen from the fields of Marketing, HRM and Accounting.
What are the entry requirements?
It is anticipated that most students will have one or more of the following:
BTEC National or Advanced GNVQ in a relevant subject
At least one GCE A Level in a relevant subject
Access to HE certificate
Appropriate work experience Due to the level of academic writing required candidates should also possess a GCSE in English language at Grade C or above.
Candidates will complete an introductory assessment prior to starting the course in order to judge suitability.
What can I do next?
Upon successful completion students can progress to a Degree course in a Business related discipline or within a work-related specialist area.
How will I be assessed?
Through assignments, portfolios, tests, presentations and projects. Unit grading is at Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Sport and Exercise Sciences HND Diploma
What’s on the Course?
These courses prepare you for a range of posts in leisure centres, gyms and health clubs. Subjects covered include Anatomy and Physiology for Sport and Exercise, A Research Project, Nutrition for Sport and Exercise, Training and Fitness for Sport and Exercise, Physical Activity, Lifestyle and Wellbeing and Health Promotion
The course will run over a period of 18 months containing a variety of assessment methods including written reports, presentations, practical field based assessments among others.
Assessment
Students will face a variety of assessments including coursework, essays, reports, presentations, group work and end-of-module examinations.
What are the entry requirements?
GCSE in five subjects at grade ‘C’ or above.The Specific entry requirements for this programme are 80 points in the UCAS system. Admissions staff may reduce the 80 points requirement where students demonstrate their commitment through attendance at open days, through appropriate part-time employment, or through appropriate other achievements. The overriding considerations are the ability to cope with the academic programme, the ability to benefit from the programme and a demonstration of motivation and commitment.
