100 Apprenticeships in 100 Days
Lakes College is delighted to announce that they have beaten their target to place 100 apprentices in work within 100 days. In June 2011 the college declared that it had again joined forces with the National Apprenticeship Services (NAS) to take part in the nationwide initiative ‘100 in 100’.
The ‘100 in 100’ initiative has been set up by NAS to benefit young people by providing them with a chance to get on career ladder whilst also benefiting businesses with a skilled and bespoke workforce.
The college has successfully placed 105 apprentices in work within 75 days, three quarters of the time, and will be continuing to recruit both apprentices and employers.
Lorraine Irving, Business & Community Development manager has headed up the initiative for the college “We are delighted that the initiative has been such a high success and that we have already beaten our target to place 100 apprentices in work in a fraction of the time. We will be continuing to carry on recruitment of both employers and apprentices and aim to successfully match the employer’s needs with the skills of the local workforce.”
